Terms

The rules for using RipRef. Short version – rate honestly, be decent, and remember the calls are the community's opinion, not a promise.

Who we are

RipRef is run by Mattias Hedström in Sweden. By using RipRef you agree to these Terms. How we handle your data is described in Privacy.

Your account

  • You must be 18 or older to create an account.
  • One account per person. Accounts are personal and can't be shared, sold or transferred.
  • You sign in with codes sent to your email, so keep your email account secure. You're responsible for what happens on your RipRef account.
  • Your username is permanent. Pick one that doesn't impersonate anyone, mislead, or offend.
  • You can delete your account at any time on your account page.

Rating fair

The calls only work if the ratings are honest. So:

  • Rate a box you actually opened – the whole box, in the format you rate.
  • One rating per format. You can edit it, but don't try to get around it with extra accounts.
  • No paid, traded or coordinated ratings. Don't rate in exchange for money, products or favours, and don't organise others to push a call up or down.
  • If you work for a card manufacturer, distributor or store, say so in your review when you rate a product you make or sell.

What you can post

Reviews and video links must be about the box you rated. Don't post:

  • anything illegal, hateful, threatening, harassing or sexual
  • personal information about other people
  • spam, advertising or links unrelated to the box
  • content you don't have the right to share

Your content

Your ratings, reviews and links stay yours. By posting them you give RipRef a free, worldwide, non-exclusive permission to show them on RipRef and to use them in the calls and in statistics that can't identify you. This permission ends when you delete them or your account – except that statistics already made can't be taken back.

Moderation

We may remove ratings or reviews that break these Terms, and suspend or delete accounts that do so repeatedly or seriously. Where we can, we'll tell you why. If you think we got it wrong, write to us.

The calls are opinions, not promises

  • A call – Rip it, Maybe or Skip it – is the average opinion of the collectors who rated that format. It is not advice, and it doesn't predict what you will pull.
  • Product details come from manufacturers and retailers. We work to keep them right, but they can be wrong or change. Check with the seller before you buy.
  • Nothing on RipRef is financial or investment advice.

Trademarks

RipRef is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any card manufacturer. Topps, Panini, Upper Deck, Leaf and other product names and logos belong to their owners and are used only to identify the products.

The service

RipRef is free and provided as it is. We try to keep it running and correct, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, pause or close features or the whole service.

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses or for decisions you make based on RipRef. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law where you live.

Changes to these Terms

We update this page and the date at the top when the Terms change. For important changes we email you at least 30 days before they take effect, so you can delete your account first if you don't agree.

Law

These Terms are governed by Swedish law. If you're a consumer in another country, you keep the protection of that country's mandatory consumer laws.
